This week’s theme/prompt is:
HEADS – Any Tom, Dick or Harry

- – -

Okay, the very first person I think of when it comes to these three names are:

First, the British Royal family. Prince Harry. Prince Harry is third in line to the British Throne and the younger son of The Prince of Wales and Diana, Princess of Wales.

When I read the name Dick…well, that’s a whole ‘nother concept that I can’t even begin to write about without having Skittles send me to the principal’s office. I’d be in so much trouble telling the HoT participants about all the “Dicks” I know. So, I’ll just not divulge in this name at all. For the sake of being the good girl that I am.

So, that leaves Tom.
I’ve spoken of Tom before. Remember once when I told you about when I was a teenager and used to flirt and flit around all the fraternity houses where I grew up? And the guy who had a red corvette? Well, his name was Tom. I’ll never forget him, nor his looks! As a teen, and hormones flowing ever so much through my veins…well, he WAS A DOLL and I loved his car! Tom. Tom Coleman. One sweet piece of meat a guy! I think it was his car that attracted me to him so much, I truly do. For one thing he was blond. And my personal tastes in guys back then and still today is dark hair! His eyes were blue…I like the dark brown eyes. He was short…I like tall, lean guys. Yep, it musta been the ‘vette!!

Another Tom I think of is an all time favorite of mine when I was younger! I wonder if he’s still around? I best go out to Google and find out. I’ll be right back—-Yep, guess he still IS alive and well! [oops, his brother's name is Dick, let me say I'll call him Richard, 'cause he more than likely wasn't a Dick!...I just never associated his brother with this theme prompt! Of course he was not as impressive as Tom either! That explains that!]

Tom. The comedy team of the Smother’s Brothers!! Oh how I loved to watch these guys! Tom [aka Tommy] was a hoot! Best known for his plaintive, “Mom always liked you best!” and as the slightly slow-witted (on-stage that is), comical half of the Smothers Brothers, Tom Smothers also has had a sporadic solo career as an actor and performer of children’s music. He made his feature film debut sans brother Dick RICHARD Smothers in Get to Know Your Rabbit (1972). A master at Yo-Yo tricks, Smothers made an instructional video, The Yo-Yo Man, in 1988. Ahhhhhhhhh, the “Yo Yo Man”!! How I remember this too. I loved this, it was just such a simple life back then. So many things from the past was more easy on the body and soul…..

Let me see if I can find this on You Tube — Ladies and Gentlemen, I now present a favorite Tom of mine —Tommy Smothers, the Yo Yo Man!!!

Bud and I received a most beautiful gift in the mail Monday afternoon. The doorbell rang and in my hands, I was given a package —

It was from Mary —-

And the card? The card is just absolutely heart warming and so sweet! I love this…

And the wonderful, and very surprising gift was a gorgeous print of my favorite bird. [Bud too...he loves cardinals!]

Mary? You just don’t know the truth behind these words…I speak, the gift was so perfect! It’s like Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal is like Bud and me…So appropriate, so beautiful —and yes, it brought tears to my eyes. I am going to go now and find a frame for this wonderful gift, and find an open spot on our walls so I can see it daily! Thank you, thank you….so so very much!!! Isn’t it perfect? Yes! It is!!!
