This week’s prompt is HEADS —Joke!!!
Y’all think I’m gonna post a funny joke then, right? Well, no I’m not. Instead I’m going to think outside the bun as our hostess Barb suggests we do sometimes [if not all the time] and go and write some personal things I have witnessed in my lifetime that I think are a joke in a whole different sense. And again, this is quite personal and I don’t expect anyone to agree with me on this. It’s just observations from my past and present that I literally think is a JOKE.
First off, the judicial system. Why do I think it’s a joke? Okay, if you’re still here with me, here it goes. My thoughts on this.
- I don’t condone the death penalty!! And it’s not that I’m conservative or liberal in any case. I am not one of those politically correct people who remain upset with, what we call now, Human Rights [an activist] either. If some man rapes and kills and robs and gets jail time. I say to myself “What a joke”!! And why put them in jail when they’ve committed such a bloodthirsty, brutal, and savage act on another – for life? No, don’t give them a lethal injection either. But don’t house them for free either!!! It’s our tax money that supports these criminals and insane. Don’t feed them for free, don’t give them access to gyms with the state of the art equipment, don’t give them free medical or up to the minute libraries! Don’t give them the comforts of ‘cushy’ beds, don’t clothe them, don’t give them free dental…don’t pay them. Get them out on the streets and on the roads repairing and doing hard labor – for life! To me, anyone that commits such a horrendous crime against an innocent fellow human being should pay and pay hard for the act. Once the crime is committed and they are found guilty,—-to me, they’ve lost all their rights!!! They take away the humane rights of others. Don’t turn the other cheek…Imprisoning them for life, with ‘comforts of home or better’ is a joke.
Why, if you stop and think about it, statistics show that once a criminal is freed, the odds are that within the first three years, they do what they were imprisoned for in the first place, AGAIN,…and fifty per cent of the time it’s because they do better with living inside behind the bars! They have better treatment than good upstanding citizens in a lot of cases.
How often I see a homeless, shelterless or even a hard working GOOD citizens in the eyes of the laws of this country that have LESS than those jailed! It IS a joke to me…a serious joke that should be fixed!
In Arizona, I remember while living there, the state prison had chain gangs! It was fought with the courts of the state versus those human rights activists and those who ran the state prison…the STATE won!! I was very pleased.
Then, secondly more items on the agenda that I won’t get into, but will list:
- Extreme amounts of money contracted out to celebrities for movie making!
- Cost of oil and the never ending fluctuation of the stocks
- What they call homeland security
- Corrupt Policemen – or any of the city’s/county’s peace officers
- Street Maintenance Workers
For instance: Seven street repairmen, three vehicles, one flagman, and only TWO are doing work; if that amount, while the others stand around and joke on the clock! - Price Gouging
- The Food and Drug Administration [the AMA involved in this too...one year, eggs are BAD, next year --eggs are actually GOOD - or this prescription drug is a wonder drug and then years later, death to those who have taken it?]…what a joke!
- Viagra, Cialis, Levitra, so many commercials about drugs it amazes me that there aren’t MORE hypochondriacs in this nation! And then, coming back to Viagra and those ED commercials, one of the actor doctors tells the actor patient, “be sure to ask your doctor if you’re heart is strong enough for sexual activity!” Joke? Ya, I think so….. Think about it…if you’re at the doctor’s office and you’re in the middle of a conference with your doctor about ED and he prescribes the ED Rx—ummmmm, I think the doctor would already KNOW if you’re heart can take sexual activity —wouldn’t he/she?
- The never ending of mega million dollar contracts of sports stars!
- The $7.00 popcorn at theaters?! Now THAT’s a joke!
Oh and speaking of Food and Drug…the enormous amount of commercialism of DRUGS on TV. Just to mention a few:
I now step down from my podium. And if you’re still here reading my ‘joke’ entry…more power to you. By the way….see #7! “The Yolk’s on you!!!“
Oh…and have a nice day!!!
