BASKETS WITH A PURPOSE!
If there is one thing in a home I really dislike, it’s the ugly light and electrical switch plates. Especially the electrical outlets on a wall! I’m a firm believer in NOT painting them the same as a wall color for safety reasons. Yet, they loom up [excuse the expression] like a moon on an outhouse door! And electrical cords are another nuisance. I try my best to hide them when all times possible.
About a year ago, when we repainted the white walls throughout the home to individual room colors, I wanted the entertainment center on the interior central wall in the living room. Which that entailed having a huge cable behind the carpet on the wall. Then, it had to be visible at the exterior wall where the cable went outdoors…so, I got a huge basket. Coiled up the extra length and stuffed it in the bottom of the basket and put flowers for the season inside. [shown below]
And I continually try to find ‘odd shaped baskets’ or baskets with a different ‘flair’ to be used for a cover-up job!
